Matt Mahaney Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Sophomore quarterback ties single-game touchdown record

Matt Mahaney tied a school record with 4 TD passes.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College football player Matt Mahaney (West Chicago, IL/Addison Driscoll) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday (September 15) after throwing four touchdown passes in the Foresters’ 31-0 shutout of Grinnell College on Saturday (September 11).

Mahaney completed 20 of 37 pass attempts in the game for 280 yards and four touchdowns, tying the single-game school record. He connected with seven different receivers and threw no interceptions, giving the sophomore a passing efficiency of 153.30.

Through two games this season the first-year starter has completed 37 of 72 pass attempts for a completion percentage of 51.4% and an overall passing efficiency of 131.91. He has tallied 589 yards and five touchdowns against four interceptions. Mahaney is on-pace to finish the season with 2,945 yards, which shatter the Forester single-season passing record of 2,103.
