Peter Sullivan and Ryann Freeman Lead Foresters at Tom Barry Invitational
Women place eighth and men ninth

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Lake Forest College cross country teams opened the season at the Tom Barry Invitational in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday (September 5). The Forester women placed eighth out of 14 teams and the men ninth out of a dozen. Carroll University won the women's competition and host St. Norbert College claimed first in the men's race.

Junior Ryann Freeman (Northfield, Minn./Northfield), the Foresters' top runner in every race last season, placed first on the team and 18th overall with a 5-kilometer time of 20:42. Senior Hadley Skeffington-Vos (Minburn, Iowa/Adel-DeSoto-Minburn) was next on the squad in 49th place with a time of 22:14. Freshman Sarah Peluse (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) finished 55th in 22:28, sophomore Amanda Glasgow (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) was 62nd in 22:49, and junior Claire Garrett (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) crossed the line just one second and two places later.

The Lake Forest men's team was led by sophomore Peter Sullivan (Lockport, Ill./Lockport), who completed the 4-mile course in 22:36 and in 22nd place. Classmate Kelsey Small (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame) was next on the squad in 48th place with a time of 23:51. Junior Evan Piermont (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) was 54th in 24:10, classmate Gilbert Reynders (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade College Prep), finished four seconds and four places later, and sophomore J.D. Randol (Topeka, Kan./Seaman) placed 68th in 24:39.

The teams will travel to Waukesha, Wisconsin, next Saturday (September 12) for the Carroll University Invitational. The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
