Freshman Sarah Peluse (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) led the women's team for the first time in her career. She completed the 5-kilometer course in 19 minutes and 29 seconds, the seventh-best time in team history. Junior Ryann Freeman (Northfield, Minn./Northfield), Lake Forest's top runner in each of the first two meets of this season and all of 2008, placed 12th and matched the program's 15th-fastest time with a career-best 19:54. Senior Hadley Skeffington-Vos (Minburn, Iowa/Adel-DeSoto-Minburn) finished 39th in 21:09 and junior Brecklind Golovich-Keie (East Jordan, Mich./Charlevoix) came in just two places and five seconds later. Sophomore Amanda Glasgow (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) completed the team's top five, placing 46th in 21:24. Thirteen of the 16 Foresters in the race ran the fastest 5K of their career. The Lake Forest men's team also had a different leader on Saturday. Sophomore Kelsey Small (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame) paced the squad with a 33rd place time of 28:07 on the 8-kilometer course. Classmate Peter Sullivan (Lockport, Ill./Lockport), the team's top runner the last two weeks, finished 38th in 28:23 and junior Evan Piermont (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) was 48th and matched his career-best time of 28:48. Sophomore J.D. Randol (Topeka, Kan./Seaman) placed 81st in exactly 31 minutes and junior Mills McIlroy (Canton, Mich./Greenhills School) was 86th in 31:14. Both marks were career-best times. The Foresters will compete in Wisconsin Lutheran College's Warrior Invitational next Saturday (October 3). The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
