WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Forester cross country teams competed in the Carroll University Invitational on Saturday (September 12). Lake Forest's women placed fifth out of nine complete teams and the men were seventh.

For the second week in a row, junior Ryann Freeman (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) was the first Forester female to cross the finish line. She completed the 5-kilometer course in 20:44 and placed 16th out of 109 runners in the race. Freshman Sarah Peluse (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) was next on the team in 31st place with a time of 21:48 and senior Hadley Skeffington-Vos (Minburn, Iowa/Adel-DeSoto-Minburn) was 35th in 22:03. Senior Martina Kolb (Gurnee, Ill./Warren) placed 49th with a time of 23:04 and junior Claire Garrett (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North) finished just two places and four seconds later.

As they were in the first meet of the season, the Forester men were led by sophomore Peter Sullivan (Lockport, Ill./Lockport), who finished the 8-kilometer course in 29:40 and placed 45th out of 93 runners. Fellow sophomore Kelsey Small (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame) was 52nd in 30:05 and junior Evan Piermont (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) 58th in 30:37. Sophomore J.D. The Foresters will compete in the Concordia University Wisconsin Invitational next Saturday (September 19). The meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
