Leann Kimmons Named Forester Athlete of the Week
Junior ran her fastest 5k and earned All-MWC honors

Leann Kimmons cut 1:28 off her previous career-best time.
LAKE FOREST, IL - Lake Forest College cross country runner Leann Kimmons (Centennial, CO/Eaglecrest) was named Forester Athlete of the Week Thursday (November 3) after helping lead the Foresters to a sixth-place finish at the Midwest Conference Championship Meet the previous Saturday (October 29).

Kimmons, a junior, turned in the best performance of her career. She completed the 5-kilometer course in 19:47, nearly a minute-and-a-half faster than her previous best time. Kimmons placed 16th in the race to earn all-conference honors.

Historically, her time is the eighth-fastest in the program’s 11 years and she became one of just five runners in team history to break the 20-minute mark. She is also the fifth to earn all-conference honors.

The Forester Athlete of the Week is chosen by members of the Athletic Department on Thursdays.
