Safety Tips
It is always wise to practice safe street smarts when navigating the city.
Basic Street Smarts:
- Create an itinerary before you leave
- Provide someone (who is not with you) with accurate details of where you’re going, when you’ll be back and your cell phone number
- Walk with a friend or group
- Stay alert and tuned into your surroundings (Turn off your iPod!)
- Stick to well traveled streets. Avoid shortcuts through parking lots and alleys
- Keep your wallet/money in an inside, front pocket, not a back pocket
- Do not wear shoes or clothing that restrict your movements
- Bring back-up cab fare
- Adopt a no-nonsense attitude (city face)
