Campaign Goals > Investment in Key Facilities

imageRecreation, Sport, and Fitness Facilities
Goal: $16,000,000

The College must substantially expand and improve athletic facilities for the many students who may not be members of organized teams, but who enjoy sports and have made fitness a part of their healthy lifestyle. Current facilities are far too limited; they have not been competitive for years. Enhanced sport and fitness spaces will help in recruitment and retention of students by increasing their recreational options, especially during the cold winter months.

Given adequate funding, the College aims to develop new weight and fitness rooms, recreational basketball/volleyball courts, handball/racquetball courts, ice hockey rink upgrades, a golf/batting cage, an aerobic/dance area, softball upgrades, and still other improvements.

Goal: $10,000,000

The College must renew and enlarge its performing arts facilities to create performance venues that will attract determined, committed students and well-known Chicago guest artists. Vibrant new facilities will give students opportunities to perform before larger audiences and to stage more ambitious productions. They also will make it possible to open many more College cultural events to the community. New, larger facilities will permit the College to hold important events on campus as well, such as the annual matriculation ceremony for new students.

The College needs a new concert hall of up to 500 seats that can accommodate an orchestra and the College’s student chorus. Also envisioned is a new black box theater, which will allow for modern productions and an audience of up to 175.
