Lake Forest Lyrica: Lincoln String Quartet and J. Lawrie Bloom 4/26
news story imageLake Forest, Ill. - Lake Forest Lyrica, a series of chamber music performed by some of the finest musicians from the Chicago area, concludes its fifteenth season on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. with a performance by the Lincoln String Quartet and J. Lawrie Bloom.

The Lyrica series consists of four Sunday afternoon concerts with performances held in the intimate setting of the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel on the beautiful campus of Lake Forest College. Tickets are $15, available at the door. A reception with the artists follows the performance. Call 847-735-6170 for more information.

The Lincoln String Quartet has been a staple of the Chicago music scene since the group’s founding in 1997. Comprising four members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the quartet performs regularly at such Chicago venues as Symphony Center, The Art Institute, and Northwestern University.

news story imageJ. Lawrie Bloom, clarinetist and solo bass clarinetist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1980, is also a member of the Rembrandt Chamber Players, Artistic Co-Director of The Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival, and Senior Lecturer in Clarinet at Northwestern University.

Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel is located on the College’s Middle Campus at the corner of Sheridan and College roads in Lake Forest. Ample parking is available and campus is accessible via Metra.
