
Lake Forest, Ill. – Scott Simon, host of
Weekend Edition Saturday on National Public Radio, a writer and novelist, and recipient of the Peabody Award for excellence in broadcasting delivered the Commencement address at Lake Forest College's 130th Commencement on Saturday, May 10, 2008. The audio portion can be heard

From Ground Zero in New York to ground zero in Kabul, to police stations, refugee camps, subway platforms, and theater stages, Simon has reported from all 50 states and every continent. He has covered ten wars, hundreds of campaigns, sieges, famines, hurricanes, earthquakes, civil wars, and scandals, state funerals and opening nights. He has interviewed and profiled some of the most interesting personalities of our times, from Mother Teresa to Ariel Sharon.
Simon lives in Washington with his wife Caroline Richard and two daughters. He attended the University of Chicago and McGill University.
