Lake Forest, Ill.- Alpana Singh, Master Sommelier, author, and host of the popular Public Television program Check, Please!, will speak at Lake Forest College on Thursday, April 12 as part of the College’s Sesquicentennial Lecture Series. Ms. Singh’s talk will be held in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Please call 847-735-6011 for more information.

She will discuss her book Alpana Pours: About Being a Woman, Loving Wine & Having Great Relationships. A book signing will follow.

Alpana’s past accolades include Best Sommelier in America by Wine and Spirits Magazine, Crain’s 40 under 40, Food and Wine Magazines 35 Under 35, Best Sommelier Chicago Magazine 2004, and a 2002 James Beard Foundation Nomination for Wine Service. She has also been featured in numerous publications including Newsweek, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times and the New York Times. Her television program Check, Please! has won two Emmy Awards. Alpana is currently the Director of Wine and Spirits, for Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Inc.
