8th Annual NeuroFrontiers Workshop. Public lectures on Alzheimer’s Disease & Stems Cells in Brain Repair
Lake Forest, Ill. - The Lake Forest College Biology Department will sponsor the Eighth Annual NeuroFrontiers Workshop on Thursday, December 1, 2005 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Dixon Science Building, room 200. Two neuroscientists from the Chicago area will serve as keynote speakers on the topics of
Alzheimer’s Disease and Use of Stems Cells in Brain Repair. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Please call 847-735-6010 for more information. The Dixon Science Building is located on the College’s Middle Campus.
The opening lecture at 8:00 a.m. on “Protein Aggregation in Alzheimer’s Disease and other Neurodegenerative Diseases” will be delivered by Nancy Muma PhD, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Loyola University Medical Center. A reception will follow at 8:45 a.m.
The workshop’s closing lecture at 4:00 p.m. on “Stem Cells and Brain Repair” will be delivered by Daniel Peterson, PhD, Professor, Department of Neuroscience Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. A reception will follow at 5 p.m.
Throughout the day the workshop will feature scholarly presentations by Lake Forest College students in Biology 346: Molecular Neuroscience, who will role-play world famous neuroscientists and discuss the scientist’s career contributions.
