Location Lake Forest College is located on 43 hectares (107 acres), .8 km (1/2 mile) from the Lake Michigan shore, 48 km (30 miles) north of Chicago, and 40 km (25 miles) from O’Hare International Airport.
Weather in the Windy City Weather in Chicago is very seasonal, giving residents a taste of all four seasons.
- Fall weather remains temperate, with leaves changing to hues of red, orange, and yellow. During October, temperatures range from highs of 22º C (71º F) to early morning lows in the 2–5º C range (upper 30s F).
- Winter is brisk and mostly sunny, with moderate snowfall, approximately 75 cm (30 inches) per season. January temperatures average -6º C (21º F), with lows of -11º C (12º F) and highs of -1º C (30º F).
- Spring rain showers lead to summer flowers in Chicago. Spring is our mild season with average lows of 1º C (34º F) and highs of 18º C (65º F) in April.
- Summer is warm, sunny, and perfect for enjoying the outdoors; July is hot and humid with averages of 29º C (84º F), a few highs of 38º C (100º F), and milder lows of 16º C (61º F).

 Student Life Orientation Each August, Lake Forest College sponsors a three-day, pre-orientation program for international students. The program is held in advance of the College’s New Student Orientation and is designed to introduce international students to the Lake Forest College community, the Chicago area, and the United States.
Campus Organizations Lake Forest supports over 80 student-run activities and organizations. Among them are several groups with an intercultural focus, including:
International Student Organization (ISO) ISO brings together international students and other students with diverse cultural interests. This union provides a supportive community for students and is intended to further an awareness and understanding of various cultures within the group and the College community.
Asian Interest Group (AIG) AIG aims to teach the campus about Asian cultures; bring Asian/Asian American speakers from different fields to the College; provide a support group for Asian students academically and socially; utilize the resources of Chicago; help train Asian students to be campus and community leaders; and provide social services as needed.
Collage Collage, published every spring, represents the literary efforts of both students and faculty in the foreign languages.
Latinos Unidos Latinos Unidos promotes educational, historical, and cultural events from the Latino community to the College community.
Lilace Reid Barnes Interfaith Center (IFC) IFC facilitates the spiritual and personal growth of Lake Forest College students in the context of reflecting the religious pluralism of the campus.
