Please print this page and save it for future reference.

If you have successfully submitted your work-study application, you will receive an e-mail confirmation from the Office of Financial Aid.  This will normally be sent at the end of each week.  If you do not receive a confirmation within one week, please contact Mark Anderson, Associate Director of Financial Aid (anderson@lakeforest.edu, or 847-735-5010).

Eligibility Issues

Contact Person: Mark Anderson  (anderson@lakeforest.edu or 847-735-5010).

You are reminded that submitting this application will not guarantee placement in a job.  Further, the College does not guarantee that you will earn the amount shown on your Financial Aid Announcement.  The College will attempt to place you in one of the departments you requested, but may assign you to another position. If you choose to not accept the assigned position, we cannot assure you that you will be placed in another department.

Eligibility for work-study is affected by a number of factors including changes to income or expenses, and the financial aid you are awarded from other sources.  If your eligibility for work-study is eliminated after you submit your application or after you are offered a job, the College reserves the right to require that you discontinue that job so that other eligible students may be employed.

Priority in Job Placement:
>  Early Decision applicants receiving Federal Work-Study
>  Other applicants receiving Federal Work-Study or Lake Forest Work-Study

Priority is Also Based On:
>  Your “financial need” and the extent to which this need has been met by scholarships and grants
>  The date we received your financial aid applications and work-study application
>  The date we received your tuition deposit

Job Assignment Issues

Contact Person:  Tina Cowan, 847-735-5031

We plan to provide details of your job assignment by mid-July.  After you arrive on campus you will contact your supervisor to schedule an interview and determine your specific job responsibilities and schedule.

As a student worker, you are expected to treat your position like any other part-time job.  Once a work schedule has been established, you are expected to show up at the agreed-upon times, conduct yourself appropriately, and complete all assignments.  If you are unable to work at an assigned time you are expected to inform your supervisor in advance.  Repeated absences and other inappropriate conduct are not acceptable and are grounds for termination.

Documentation Issues, Payroll Issues

Important:  Additional Requirements!

When you arrive on campus in August, you will need to complete several employment forms for the Office of Business Affairs, located in North Hall (campus map, building #7).  The employment forms will require you to provide certain documents.  You will not be issued a timecard and will not be permitted to work until this is completed.

Our Student Payroll page has details of the required documents, as well as information about pay rates and the process of getting paid.
