"Work-Study" is simply an opportunity for students to have a part-time job while going to school. Jobs are in administrative offices, academic departments, the library, the sports center, campus security, and other campus locations. The College does not guarantee that all eligible students will be offered jobs, and does not guarantee that they will earn the amount appearing on the Financial Aid Announcement.

Students who are eligible under either program are offered up to $2000 for the year, though the amount is not guaranteed. Those offered the maximum award are generally able to work 8-10 hours each week. Once a student earns the amount shown on the Financial Aid Announcement, the College reserves the right to end that student's employment for the year. Students who have not been offered funds from either program are generally not permitted to work on campus. (See Off-Campus Employment at the bottom of the page.) If all eligible students have been placed in jobs and positions remain open, it is possible for others to be offered employment.
Eligible students must complete the work-study application. Priority in placing students in jobs will be based on financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid, and the date of receipt of financial aid and work-study applications. A list of the departments which hire students is found at the bottom of the page. Job assignments are typically made via e-mail in early August. Before students may begin working, they must complete employment forms in the Office of Business Affairs. Student workers are expected to treat their position like any other part-time job. Once a work schedule has been established, students are expected to show up at the agreed-upon times. Students who are unable to work at an assigned time are expected to inform his/her supervisor in advance. Repeated absences and other inappropriate conduct are not acceptable and are grounds for termination. Getting Paid Off-Campus Employment
