2009-2010 Scholarship Programs

First-Year Students
Scholarships of up to $20,000 per year

The College is proud to offer merit-based scholarships of up to $20,000 per year ($80,000 over four years) that are not based on financial need.  Our scholarship program recognizes academic achievement, talent, and community engagement. 

$12,000 Guaranteed In-State Scholarship  (Illinois Students)
Every well-qualified student offered admission who is a resident of Illinois will receive a Guaranteed In-State Scholarship award of $12,000 per year ($48,000 over four years).

$12,000 Presidential Scholarship  (Students outside of Illinois)
Merit-based awards of up to $12,000 per year ($48,000 over four years) are based on the application for admission, curriculum, transcript, interview, recommendations, and standardized test scores (if submitted).  Scholarship renewal requires a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 after the first year and 2.75 thereafter.

$3,000 - $8,000 Forester Scholarships  (Available to All Students)
Students may apply for one of the Forester Scholarships, which begin at $3,000 and range up to a limited number of $8,000 awards. A separate application is required.

Forester Scholarships recognize a dedication to academics, the arts, sciences and community. Because of limited funds, scholarship awards will be prioritized for those students who submit their Forester Scholarship application with their application for admissions.  Majoring in a particular area is not a requirement of any scholarship.

Chicago Public School Full-Tuition Scholarships
The College is pleased to offer 25 full-tuition scholarships to graduates of Chicago Public Schools.  In addition to the application for admission, financial need is considered, and an on-campus interview is required.

Eligibility is limited to students who are a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

International Students

United World College Scholarships are offered to students from the UWC program and include the Davis United World Colleges Scholarship and the Global Enrichment Scholarship.  Both are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. The total of all scholarship funds offered to UWC students ranges from $25,000 to $38,000 per year.  UWC transfer students may also apply. More information.

International Trustee Scholarships recognize international students with exceptional academic credentials and provides scholarships of up to $23,500. More information.

 

Transfer Students

Presidential Transfer Scholarships provide awards up to $12,000 per year to transfer students.  Minimum qualifications include a college grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in a challenging program of college or university studies.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships provide awards of half-tuition to transfer students who have their Associate of Arts degree and hold current membership in this international honor society. More information.
