At Lake Forest College, students learn to read critically, reason analytically, communicate persuasively, and think for themselves. As they reap the benefits of a strong liberal arts education, Career Services guides students through a career exploration process and provides them with the professional and interpersonal skills necessary to succeed in the workplace.

At Career Services, we work with employers to post full-time job opportunities and internships and schedule on-campus interviews. Our goal is to professionally prepare quality candidates for your openings.

Criteria for recruiting Lake Forest students:

· Positions must be full-time jobs or internships (part-time employers can contact the Gates Center for Leadership and Personal Growth at 847-735-5210 to post positions)

· Full-time positions must require a four-year degree

· Full-time positions must have a base salary– cannot be entirely commission-based

· Positions must be direct hires– we cannot post positions from third-party recruiters

How we can help you connect with Lake Forest students:

Online Career Center: The easiest and fastest way to let students know about job and internship openings at your company is to visit our Online Career Center (link) and post available opportunities. Please note this is a password protected site. Employers must complete a free registration process before gaining access.

Career Coffee Chats: Volunteer to sit on a panel that is designed to inform students about your work and answer their questions. This is a great way to make personal connections with students while giving them information about your field.

Lake Forest College is a member of the Illinois Small College Placement Association (ISCPA), a consortium linking small colleges throughout Illinois. By working with ISCPA you can access both Lake Forest and other ISCPA students. Here is how you can get involved:

ISCPA Online Career Center: Much like in our own On-line Career Center, employers can post jobs and internships for student viewing

Job Fairs: Career Services encourages both employers and students to attend local job fairs, including CareerFest and TeacherFest, which are targeted at liberal arts and education majors.
