Religion Major

The Religion major requires nine courses, including:

  • Four introductory courses exploring specific religious communities (Religion 210-216), consisting of two courses from the Abrahamic traditions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) and two courses from the Asian traditions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Chinese Religions)
  • Religion 300:  Approaches to the Study of Religion
  • Three elective courses, at least one at the 300-level.  Only one 100-level elective may count toward the major.
  • Research project (generally one credit) or senior thesis (generally two credits).

Religion minor
The Religion minor requires six courses, including:

  • Three courses in religious communities (Religion 210-216), at least one each from the Abrahamic and Asian traditions.
  • Three electives, at least one at the 300-level and no more than one at the 100-level.Cross-list EDUC 310: Equity and Social Justice in Education with the Ethics Center. Request cross-list as ETHC 340.
