Rush University College of Nursing
Lake Forest College is affiliated with Rush University Medical Center for the Generalist Entry Master (GEM) with a focus in Clinical Leadership. Students must complete the following prerequisite courses with an average GPA of 3.0 or better, as well as an overall GPA of 3.0 or better, and obtain a letter of recommendation from the Health Professions Advisory Committee (HPAC). It is desirable for students to have taken all the courses listed below at Lake Forest College or another 4-year college or university (see a member of HPAC for more details).
Plan your schedule carefully! The following courses are prerequisites:
CHEM 116: Chemistry II with lab
BIOL 208: Human Anatomy with lab
BIOL 340: Animal Physiology with lab
BIOL 320: Microbiology with lab
Students must also take one course from each of the following four groups. It is best for you to ask a pre-health advisor if you are uncertain of what is acceptable.
PSYC 110: Introduction to Psychology
PSYC 210: Developmental Psychology or another psychology course or behavioral science course
SOAN 110: Introduction to Sociology and Anthropology or another course in the social sciences, such as ECON 110, POLS 110 or 120
ENGL 110: Literary Studies or another course in the humanities such as PHIL 110, HIST 110 or 120

Mathematics 150: Statistics (or Biol 150 or Psyc 221), Biology 106: Nutrition and the Human Body, and Spanish.
