Latin American Studies
The region of Latin America, which encompasses Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Hispanic Caribbean, has grown enormously in economic and cultural importance in the United States. Immigration, trade, travel, literary production, and popular culture—these are just a few of the ways in which Latin America is affecting the lives of Americans. By providing both a major and a minor, the Latin American Studies Program enables students to prepare for careers involving this vital region.
