Kara Ellerby Latin American Studies/Spanish major 2002, is in the Peace Corps stationed in Mozambique, Africa where she is teaching secondary English and working on AIDS/HIV awareness.
Kathleen (Katie) Lackey reports: “April 2005 will mark my second anniversary working for the Mouse. I am employed as a Research Specialist 1 with the Research Coding Team at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. I use my language skills for translation with my job, but eventually would like to return to school to pursue a Master's degree in LAS. When I'm not working, which is rare, I'm off "playing in the parks", reading, watching movies, or spending time with friends. I miss LFC and Chicago, but not the cold weather.”
Katharina (Kathy) Moreira (nee Eckhart) Kathy graduated in 2003 with a double major in Spanish and Latin American Studies. She was married this summer to Ricardo Moriera.
She recently related: "I just got a job at Walt Disney World as a Reservations Sales Agent. I seems like it is going to be a nice job from everything I have done there so far. I am planning on taking my first class for my MBA this summer at the University of Central Florida. With my MBA in few years I should be able to start looking it the executive positions in the Disney Company."
She also included the following update for her professors and friends from the college: "The newest addition to my family is a Siamese kitten named Salida My sugar gliders, Honey and Hobbes, are doing well also."
