Nominations and Submissions

The &NOW AWARDS: The Best Innovative Writing II, the second installment of the biennial anthology of the “best” innovative writing, is seeking nominations. The anthology will be released in October 2012, with subsequent editions published every other year.

Nominate innovative fiction, poetry, hybrid or electronic writing to the &NOW AWARDS: Revised Guidelines

  1. The 2012 edition will include work published between Sept 1, 2009 and Sept 1, 2011. Unpublished works cannot be considered. Deadline for submission: December 1, 2011.
  2. We have a large number of nominations now, but we want more.
  3. Please nominate here, or submit work—especially if you are an &NOW participant. Submissions are open to anyone, but we know &NOW people already understand the aesthetic. If you are new to &NOW, check us out a bit before you submit. We want work that is breaking new ground, not doing the same old same old, even in a compelling manner.
  4. Additionally, publishers of magazines, journals, and small presses may submit up to two submissions for inclusion, anytime between now and Sept 1, 2011. Submissions must have been published between Sept 1, 2009 and Sept 1, 2011. Please include the text of the submission to submishmash (URL is fine, if online pub). You must eventually be willing to provide a word processing or Adobe InDesign formatted copy to us as needed.
  5. The &NOW editorial board will also be on the lookout for submissions, so publishers may also send copies of their publications to:
