The purpose of this webpage is to give our students more insight into the Economics program at Lake Forest College and to foster a greater ability for students to mold their courses according to their interests and future goals. It is not intended that everyone will follow the schedule below; in fact, most students will not. Rather, the schedule allows students to see how courses fit together and build on each other. It also allows students to see how courses need to be rearranged in order to accomodate another major or a study abroad program.
Following the schedules are electives the department encourages students to consider taking based on their career goals. Also, although internships do not satisfy any requirements for the major, the department offers a variety of internship opportunities which can provide valuable job experience.
Your official course selections will be made in consultation with your advisor. It would be helpful if you printed an advising form (in pdf) and brought it with you when you see your advisor. The advising form allows you to track your GEC requirements as well as your department requirements. The form can also be downloaded as an Excel file.
