Participating in an off-campus program, whether to study, intern, research or volunteer, can be a life-changing experience. At Lake Forest College, we understand that our students have individual learning goals, which is why we have such a robust set of off-campus programs. You might spend a semester studying entrepreneurship in China, interning at the National Assembly in Paris, doing hands-on research on dengue fever in Costa Rica — or you can choose an entirely different way to customize your academic career at Lake Forest College.
To find the program for you, filter for programs by interest using tags listed to the right. In addition to tags for majors and minors, there are options to find off-campus programs for internships, research, and volunteering or service-learning.
Clicking more than one tag (ex: Internships and business) will find programs that have those options in common. Then, click on the program title to learn more about individual programs.
Each major/minor tag means there is at least one course, internship or research opportunity that may fit; it is not guaranteed that you will be taking all classes in that topic. Be sure to read the program description page for information about eligibility, courses, housing, and more.
For all programs on this list, students pay their normal Lake Forest tuition plus a program fee, and their financial aid package (with the exception of Federal Work Study) will apply. If you are interested in a different program, you can learn about approved program providers (to which your aid is not guaranteed, but may be eligible to transfer), here.
Applications for Stage 1 are due November 13, 2014. Once deemed eligible, students will apply to their preferred program in Stage 2, which is due in February. Any exceptions are noted on the program-specific page.
