Jill Terzakis > Biographical Sketch

Jill Mason Terzakis (class of 1988) holds a BA in English Literature with a specialization in secondary education from Lake Forest College and an MBA in finance with a specialization in real estate finance from DePaul University. She began teaching at the College in the spring of 2005 in the Economics and Business Department as an adjunct faculty member and currently teaches courses in risk management and real estate finance. She is currently Vice President of Housing and Structured Finance with Scott Balice Strategies, a public financial advisory firm that provides strategic and transactional services to state and local governments. Her areas of specialization and research endeavors have included credit analysis of single and multi-family municipal bonds, the impact of federal tax and arbitrage regulations upon housing bond issuer redemption and disclosure practices, and governmental debt and budget analysis. Her research has been presented at various conferences including the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, the National Council of State Agencies, and the Institute for International Research.  She is currently writing a paper on privatization of governmental assets for capital and revenue generation that will be presented at the Association of Budget and Finance annual conference.  Jill Mason Terzakis is also pursuing her PhD in Public Administration at the University of Illinois’ College of Urban Planning and Public Administration.
