David George > Biographical Sketch
David George, a native of Minneapolis, earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures at the University of Minnesota. He has taught at Lake Forest College since 1985. He previously taught at Middlebury College and at the Universidade de São Paulo. He has received fellowships and grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Fulbright Program, American Council of Learned Societies, and Social Science Research Council. He has published four books of scholarship, most recently Flash & Crash Days: Brazilian Theatre in the Post-Dictatorship Period, New York: Garland Publishing, 2000; reissued as an e-book (Microsoft Reader), 2006. His creative publications include an original play and numerous literary translations (fiction and drama).
