Christopher M. Whidden > Biographical Sketch

A native Floridian, Christopher Whidden earned his B.A. with honors in philosophy from Wake Forest University and two M.A. degrees (political science and philosophy) from Northern Illinois University, where he is currently an A.B.D. Doctoral Candidate in Political Science.  His teaching and research interests include American government, American political thought, the history of political philosophy, and politics and literature.  He has twice been awarded fellowships from the Earhart Foundation.  His articles on topics such as Xenophon, Plato, Aristotle, statesmanship, rhetoric, and empire have appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as The Review of Politics, Interpretation, and Polis.  He lives on campus at Lake Forest College with his wife Rachel and their daughter Felicity.
