Dr. James Laidler, Argonne National Laboratory

Dr. Laidler has degrees from the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Washington, and the University of Virginia. He has worked in the field of nuclear energy for over 45 years, with most of the experience in issues related to the nuclear fuel cycle. He spent his early career at the Hanford Works in Washington state and moved to Argonne National Laboratory twenty years ago. At Argonne, he served as Director of the Chemical Technology Division for five years and then held the position of National Director of the GNEP Separations Technology Development activity for six years, which involved the technical direction of the work of eight DOE national laboratories. He is now responsible for technical coordination of international fuel cycle activities under the scope of the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership.
