City of Lake Forest The downtown area of Lake Forest is a short walk from campus and includes the train station to Chicago, restaurants, shops, pharmacies, a grocery store, and more. Students often find part-time jobs in town. The city also features several recreational opportunities, including bike paths, nature trails, and Lake Michigan.
