The Comic Intermezzo Lake Forest, Ill.—Lake Forest Lyrica, the acclaimed concert series at Lake Forest College, will present the fourth and final concert of its tenth season on Sunday, April 25. Kathleen and Peter Van De Graaff will perform “The Comic Intermezzo,” a one-act comic opera performed in English, created as an authentic reproduction of popular 18th century operas called intermezzi. The performance will feature music by Michael Haydn, Franz Joseph Haydn, and Johann Adolph Hasse. The performance will be held at 3 p.m. in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel, located on the College’s Middle Campus at the intersection of College and Sheridan Roads. Admission is $15 at the door, and $5 for students with ID. For more information, please contact 847-735-5169. Husband and wife Peter and Kathleen Van De Graaff have performed throughout Europe, Asia, Israel, and the United States since 1985. They have sung together and separately with the Czech State Philharmonic, the Budapest Concert Orchestra, Israeli Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Opera Theater, Chicago Lyric Opera, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago String Quartet, among many others. Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 46 states and 50 other countries.
