
Chicago Korean Music Ensemble
Lake Forest, Ill.—The Lake Forest College Asia Center hosts an evening of Korean music performed by the five-member Chicago Korean Music Ensemble on Wednesday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel on the College’s Middle Campus. Traditional and newly composed Korean music will be performed on traditional Korean instruments. Boung Hye Kim, in addition to vocals, performs on the Gayageum (twelve-stringed zither); Hyun Chung Kim performs on Daegeum (large bamboo flute), Sogeum (small bamboo flute), and the Danso (notched vertical flute); Sunwoo Yang performs on the Geomungo (six-stringed zither); and Yuri Choi performs on Haegeum (two-stringed fiddle).
Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 46 states and 50 other countries.
