Lake Forest, Ill.—Renowned poet and novelist Michael Anania will give a free public reading of his work at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 22 in Meyer Auditorium. Meyer Auditorium is located in Hotchkiss Hall on the College’s Middle Campus. For more information, call 847-735-6010. Anania, a professor of English at the University of Illinois-Chicago, is the author of several poetry collections, including The Sky at Ashland (1986), Selected Poems (1994), and most recent, In Natural Light (1999). Anania has also written a collection of essays, In Plain Sight: Essays (1993), and the novel The Red Menace (1993). His work has been included in the Norton Anthology of Modern Poetry. A founding member of the Poetry Center of Chicago, Anania has served as poetry editor of Swallow Press, director of CLMP, and member of the NEA literature panel. Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 46 states and 50other countries.
