Lake Forest, Ill.—The Lake Forest College Department of Music will present a winter concert of orchestra and chorus on Tuesday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel. The Chapel is located on the College’s Middle Campus. The public is invited to attend the concert free of charge. A reception will follow the performance. The Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Rami Levin, will perform selections from Mozart’s Serenade No. 11 for Winds, the Classical Symphony by Sergei Prokofiev, Nocturne by Alexander Borodin, featuring violin soloist Fred Despres ’05, J.S. Bach’s Oncerto for Oboe and Violin, with Tracey Swanson ’07 and Kristen Zanon ’04, and a trumpet duet by community member Ben Fisher and David Cantor-Echols ’07. The Forester Singers and the Lake Forest College Chorus, under the direction of Kirk-Evan Billet, will perform several selections from African American composers in celebration of Black History Month. Additionally, the chorus will present the premiere of Toward Justice by Kirk-Evan Billet. Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 46 states and 50 other countries.
