Jazz Musician Tuey Connell Performs

Lake Forest, Ill.— Jazz Musician Tuey Connell will perform at Lake Forest College on Tuesday, February 17 at 8:30 p.m. in the Coffeehouse, located in Durand Commons on the College’s Middle Campus. The performance is free and open to the public. For more information please call 847-735-6021.

Connell, who graduated from Lake Forest College in 1990, has become one of New York’s most unique jazz musicians, blending unique banjo rhythms with his soulful voice. In 1995, the Chicago Tribune raved about Connell’s musicality. Critics hail Connell as “one of the new heirs to the jazz singing throne” –Jazzthetik-Germany, and “a mixed hybrid of Johnny Hartman, Michael Franks, and Sinatra” –Backstage Weekly. Borders/JazzTimes Magazine recently selected his newest CD, ‘Under the Influence’ released in September, for their Fall Buyer’s Guide.

This concert sponsored by the Campus Entertainment Committee, an organization dedicated to bringing quality entertainment to the Lake Forest College campus.
