Lake Forest, Ill.—The Lake Forest College Department of Music will present a concert of music for woodwind quintet featuring the Quintet Attacca on Friday, February 13 at Noon in Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel. The program will include works by Franz Danzi, Roberto Sierra, Tom Benjamin, and John Harbison. The public is welcome to attend. There is no charge for admission. Quintet Attacca was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2002 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition – one of only two wind quintets to have received this honor in the competition’s 30-year existence. The quintet has played in venues across the Midwest, and in Europe as part of the Fischoff Competition winner’s tour at the Emilia Romagna Festival. Through innovative programming, Quintet Attacca presents concerts that are both accessible and cutting-edge. “Quintet Attacca combines the challenges of today’s most difficult works with lesser known gems from the past,” says Rami Levin, chair of the College’s music department. The quintet members are Jennifer Clippert, flute; Erica Burtner Anderson, oboe; Barbara Drapcho, clarinet; Jeremiah Frederick, horn; and Collin Anderson, bassoon. Both Erica Burtner Anderson and Collin Anderson are on the Applied Music faculty at Lake Forest College. Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 46 states and 50 other countries.
