NeuroFrontiers Workshop
Public Lectures on Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease

Lake Forest, Ill.—The Lake Forest College Biology Department will sponsor the Sixth Annual NeuroFrontiers Workshop on Thursday, December 4 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium, located in Hotchkiss Hall on the College’s Middle Campus. Two neuroscientists from the Chicago area will serve as keynote speakers on the topics of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Dr. Benjamin Wolozin, PhD, professor of pharmacology at Loyola Medical School will open the day with a lecture on Parkinson’s disease at 8 a.m. in Meyer Auditorium. Linda Van Eldik, PhD, professor of cell and molecular biology and Investigator of the Drug Discovery Program at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine will close the day with a talk at 5 p.m. on Alzheimer’s disease.

Throughout the day the workshop will feature presentations by students in Biology 346: Molecular Neuroscience, who will role-play world famous neuroscientists and discuss the scientist’s career contributions.

Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,330 students representing 46 states and 50 other countries.
