Lake Forest, Ill.— The Lake Forest College Art Department presents the 11th Annual Katherine Filson Covington Exhibit titled, “Tension :: Climax/ Modern Narratives.” The exhibition opens with a reception at 8 p.m. Thursday, November 20 in the Sonnenschein Gallery in the Durand Art Institute on the College’s North Campus. The exhibit will be on display from Thursday, November 20 through Wednesday, December 10. For more information please call 847-735-6010. The gallery will be open on November 20 from 8-10 p.m. and 2:30–5 p.m. daily, thereafter; it will close for the College’s Thanksgiving break from Thursday, November 27 to Sunday, December 1. The show will feature 20th century images from the art collection of Lake Forest College in which the narrative is building to a peak moment. The exhibit will include pieces by: Robert Doisneau, Gary Winograd, Elliott Erwitt, Manual Bravo and H.P. Westerman. In the Albright Room Gallery, also located in Durand, pieces by the Advanced Photography Class - Art 232 will also be on display. The Katherine Filson Covington Memorial was established in 1992 and honors Covington’s association with the College and her interest in the arts. The Memorial was founded by her husband John, the Willett Foundation, and friends of Mrs. Covington. Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The college has 1,330 students representing 46 states and 50 other countries.
