Lake Forest College ranked #2 nationally by The Princeton Review Lake Forest, Ill.-Lake Forest College is one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review. Ranked number two in the nation in the category "Best Academic Bang for Your Buck" Lake Forest is one of 351 schools featured in the just-published 2004 edition of The Princeton Review annual college guide, The Best 351 Colleges. The "Best Academic Bang for your Buck" ranking is based on a combination of the Princeton Review Academic Rating, Financial Aid Rating, and Tuition GPA. " We regard the schools in this book as 'the créme of the crop' institutions for undergraduate education. Only about ten percent of the colleges in America, and only two Canadian colleges are in the book. Each one offers an outstanding academic program," says Robert Franek, assistant vice president / Guidebook Publishing, The Princeton Review. " It includes public and private schools, traditional and non-traditional colleges, historically black colleges and universities, and science and technology-focused institutions." " The combination of an outstanding faculty who provide students with a remarkable amount of personal attention, a challenging liberal-arts curriculum that is uniquely enhanced by the resources of Chicago, 30 miles to our south, and our strong commitment to students with financial need, certainly makes Lake Forest one of the most attractive colleges for students from around the world," says William Motzer, vice president for admissions and career services. Lake Forest was also ranked tenth in the category "Students happy with financial aid." "The College has a need-blind admissions policy and is committed to meeting 100 percent of a students demonstrated financial need, ensuring that our doors remain open to qualified students from all economic backgrounds," says Motzer. In addition to these positive rankings the College was also cited in the category "Is this a library?" "As far as the library ranking goes, we are in the midst of an $18 million renovation and expansion of our library that will result in a state of the art facility," adds Motzer. "Scheduled to open its doors in the fall of 2004, the new library will feature wireless access to the campus network, hard wired group and individual study areas, a 24 hour cyber café and computer lab, and high tech presentation rooms, it will be truly be a library for the 21st century." Lake Forest College has also been named one of the "Best in the Midwest" by The Princeton Review. The top 150 schools from eleven states are profiled in the first edition of The Best Midwestern Colleges, one of five in their regional guidebook series. Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 45 states and 43 other countries.
