Sex and Asian-ness in America Cinema
Joseph Yeh Memorial Lecture

Lake Forest, Ill.– Chinese-American film writer and director Eric Byler, will deliver the second lecture in the annual Joseph Yeh Memorial Lecture series at Lake Forest College on Friday, April 11 at 4 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. For more information please call 847-735-6010.

The topic of Byler’s talk is “Sex and Asian-ness in America Cinema.” He will explore the issues of racial identity, interracial dating, and more by introducing us to his new film, Charlotte Sometimes.

The Joseph Yeh Memorial Lecture Series is held in honor of the late Joseph Yeh, a Lake Forest College professor. Yeh was a philosopher, teacher, and friend whose life was cut short in the summer of 2001 at the young age of 30. He is remembered as a vibrant, intriguing, and insightful teacher. The lecture series is intended to continue his goal of challenging beliefs and the unquestioned assumptions that underlie them.

Lake Forest College is a private liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 45 states and 43 other countries.
