Lake Forest, Ill.- Poet Lucien Stryk will present a poetry reading at Lake Forest College on Thursday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium in Hotchkiss Hall, located on the College’s Middle Campus near the intersection of College and Sheridan roads in Lake Forest. The reading, free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the College’s English and Foreign Language Departments, American Studies, and Chicago Outreach. For more information please call 847-735-6010. Stryk, raised in Chicago, has taught in universities in Japan, and was a Fulbright lecturer in Japan and Iran. He has read his poetry at more than 350 colleges, and on the air in the US and England. He has published nearly twenty books, and edited and contributed to several others, including And Still Birds Sing, New & Collected Poems (Swallow Press, 1998) and Zen Poetry: Let the Spring Breeze Enter (poems translated by Stryk and Takashi Ikemoto). Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The college has 1,300 students representing 45 states and 43 other countries.
