Reminiscences of an Economic Forecaster


Lake Forest, Ill.- Dr. Dana Johnson, head of the Research Group at Bank One Capital Markets, will deliver a lecture entitled “Reminiscences of an Economic Forecaster” on Wednesday, April 9 at 5 p.m. at Lake Forest College. Johnson will share his personal experience in forecasting future trends in the economy as well as the associated pitfalls that can accompany such forecasting.

The talk will be held in Meyer Auditorium, located in Hotchkiss Hall on the College’s Middle Campus, near the intersection of College and Sheridan roads. Sponsored by the Department of Economics and Business, the talk is free and open to the public. For more information please call 847-735-6010.

Johnson has been at Bank One and its predecessor organizations since 1985. In addition to providing financial market research, he also has served in various proprietary trading positions, He began his career at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. While he was on the staff at the Federal Reserve, he was a senior economist and did both non-financial and financial economic analysis from 1975 to 1983.

Lake Forest College is a private, liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The college has 1,300 students representing 45 states and 43 other countries.
