Bulgaria: A Country with the Ex-King as a Prime Minister and an Ex-Communist as President


Lake Forest, Ill.—Distinguished Bulgarian sociologist, Dr. George Dimitrov, will present a public lecture at Lake Forest College on Monday, November 18 at 8 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium in Hotchkiss Hall on the College’s Middle Campus. The title of the lecture is “Bulgaria: A Country with the Ex-King as a Prime Minister and an Ex-Communist as President.”

Dimitrov was the President of the Association for Social Investigations and Applied Research Practice from 1994-2000. He has published several works in the sociological field; his most recent publication is titled, The Contemporary Sociology: Crucified by its Tradition and Public Expectations. He is a professor at the University of Sofia in Bulgaria.

The event is begin hosted by the College’s Friends of Bulgaria student organization. The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information call 847-735-6010.
