Lake Forest, Ill.--James P. Sterba, professor of Philosophy at Notre Dame University, will present a talk titled, "Terrorism and International Justice" at Lake Forest College on Thursday, November 14 at 4 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to the public. Sterba has distinguished himself as one of the preeminent political philosophers in the United States. He has done a great deal of work on issues of justice and war and was granted a Fulbright award to teach courses on Peace and Justice in the Soviet Union. Sterba was active in debates on nuclear deterrence (he published a valuable collection on the subject) and is now producing an interdisciplinary collection on war, terrorism, and international justice for Oxford. Sterba has published and edited more than 20 books, his book Justice for Here and Now received the 1998 Book of the Year Award of the North American Society for Social Philosophy.
