"Dame Margaret Thatcher–A Personal and Professional Look at a Woman who Changed Our Times"



Lake Forest, Ill – Sir Fergus Montgomery, distinguished Member of Parliament for 38 years and former Parliamentary Private Secretary to Margaret Thatcher, will present a public talk at Lake Forest College on Tuesday, September 24 at 8 p.m. in Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel. "Dame Margaret Thatcher–A Personal and Professional Look at a Woman who Changed Our Times" is the title of Sir Fergus’s talk. The public is welcome and admission is free. Prior to his retirement from Parliament in 1998, Sir Fergus served in several elected and appointed positions, including that of Parliamentary Private Secretary for Mrs. Thatcher, both when she was Secretary of State for Education and Science and again when she was Leader of the Opposition. Given a knighthood in 1985, Sir Fergus currently serves on the boards of several private and charitable institutions and travels extensively to promote international awareness and understanding.

This event is sponsored jointly by Lake Forest College, the Christopher C. Mojekwu memorial Fund for Intercultural Understanding, the Kemper Foundation, and Huron University (UK).

Lake Forest College is a private liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,300 students representing 44 states and 41 other countries.
