Lake Forest, Ill – Robert Levey, award-winning columnist for The Washington Post, and Jane Freundel Levey, historian, writer and editor will be the Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows at Lake Forest College from February 25–March 1. The Leveys will present a public talk titled, "Washington D.C., America’s Last Colony: A History of Its People and Politics," on Wednesday, February 27 at 4 p.m. in Meyer Auditorium, Hotchkiss Hall, located on the College’s Middle Campus at the intersection of College and Sheridan roads in Lake Forest. The public is invited to attend the lecture free of charge. For more information, please call 847-735-6010. A graduate of the University of Chicago, Bob Levey has, for the last two decades, written about the humane side of the city of Washington in his popular column "Bob Levey’s Washington." The Leveys, both longtime Washingtonians, are steeped in the politics, culture, and history of Washington D.C., and together they have published "Washington Album: A Pictorial History of the Nation’s Capital." Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows are representatives of various professions who spend a week or more on the campuses of liberal arts colleges helping students and teachers relate education to the needs of American society. Through classes, seminars, and informal discussions, executives of major corporations, diplomats, prize-winning journalists, and others create better understanding between the academic and non-academic worlds. The Program is generously sponsored by the Lake Forest College Women’s Board. Lake Forest College is a private liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,250 students representing 44 states and 41 other countries.
