Lake Forest, Ill – Lake Forest College’s Durand Art Institute is the site of two new exhibitions which opened January 22 and will run through February 10. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend. Gallery hours are 2:30–5 p.m. daily. For more information, please call 847-735-6010. A digital photography/computer imaging installation by Wendy Babcox, assistant professor of photography and intermedia at Western Michigan University, will be featured in the Sonnenschein Gallery. Babcox is a photographer, video, installation and performance artist. Her themes include female imagery found at tourist attractions like Busch Gardens, Sea World, and Disney World. She then uses electronic media in combination with performance strategies to create her images. In the Albright Room Gallery is an exhibition entitled "Not My Father's Corpse " which consists of 200 pieces of work. The pieces are a collaborative effort between Professor Davis Schneiderman's Creative Writing class and Professor Tom Denlinger's Advanced Photography class. Durand Art Institute is located on the College’s North Campus at the intersection of Sheridan and Deerpath roads in Lake Forest. Lake Forest College is a private liberal arts institution located 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. The College has 1,240 students representing 44 states and 41 other countries.
