Assistant Professor of Psychology Matthew Kelley was awarded a Psi Chi Faculty Advisor Research Grant from the Psi Chi National Office to continue exploring applications of the generation effect.
Center for Chicago Programs Director and Composer-in-Residence Rami Levin received her 14th ASCAP composer’s award.
In August, D. K. Pearsons Professor of Politics Ghada Talhami was invited to join the Board of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at North Park University in Chicago.
Teaching Associate in Voice and Lecturer in Music Kathleen Van De Graaff received a grant from the Illinois Arts Council to launch a summer voice academy for high school students at Lake Forest College. The camp will occur in the week of July 4, 2008, and include workshops with renowned area singers and vocal coaches.
Lecturer in Politics and Philosophy Christopher Whidden received a research grant for the academic year 2007-2008 from the Earhart Foundation. He is using the grant to research the themes of empire and nation-building in classic works of literature and political philosophy, including Xenophon and Vergil.
