Assistant Professor of Chinese
Lake Forest College seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Chinese Language and Literature. This faculty member will play a key role in the College’s Asian Studies Program and be a member of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Chinese language or literature and native or near-native fluency in standard spoken and written Mandarin and English. Experience with college-level teaching including interdisciplinary courses and integration of classroom technology preferred. Interest in using Chicago resources desired.
Specific responsibilities include teaching six courses annually, four in Chinese language, and two in literature and/or culture, based on specialization and interest. Asian Studies faculty serve on the Asian Studies Program Committee, work with colleagues to develop cross-disciplinary Asia-focused classes, and support College programs in East Asia.
