Travel Directions to Campus

Arriving by Automobile
From Chicago — Take I-94 (Edens Expressway) north toward Waukegan. When I-94 splits off toward Milwaukee, stay on the Edens, which becomes U.S. Route 41. Exit at Deerpath Road, turn right (east) onto Deerpath and continue through the town of Lake Forest and toward the College.

From points North — Take I-94 south from Milwaukee. Just south of the Wisconsin-Illinois line, stay left and follow U.S. Route 41. Exit at Deerpath Road, turn left (east) onto Deerpath, and continue through the town of Lake Forest and toward the College.

From points West & Southwest (including O’Hare Airport) — Take I-294 (Tri-State Tollway), which becomes I-94, north to Illinois 60 (Town Line Road). Exit and turn right (east) on Route 60.  Continue east to Route 43 (Waukegan Road), turn left (north) for 1/2 mile to Deerpath Road. Turn right (east) onto Deerpath and continue through the town of Lake Forest and toward the College.

The College — Once in Lake Forest on Deerpath Road, proceed east through the business district and across the railroad tracks.  Deerpath winds through a residential area and the next stop sign is Sheridan Road, which is the entrance to North Campus. For Middle Campus and most College offices, turn right (south) onto Sheridan Road, go one block to College Road, and turn left (east) into the College through the stone pillars. The entrance to South Campus is at Maplewood and Sheridan Roads.

Arriving by Plane
From O’Hare Airport — Airport Express, a shuttle service, leaves from each terminal and runs regularly to Lake Forest. For departure information and reservations call 312-454-7800. A one-way ticket is approximately $35; round-trip is approximately $65.

From Midway Airport — It is least expensive to take Omega Shuttle Service from Midway to O’Hare for approximately $20 and then take Airport Express or American Taxi to the College.  Pick-up at Midway Airport is located at door 3, lower level. For more information call 773-483-6634.

Arriving by Train
Amtrak trains arrive into Chicago at Union Station.  To reach Lake Forest from Chicago you will need to get to the Ogilvie Transportation Center where the METRA commuter train boards. The Ogilvie Transportation Center is located three long blocks north of Union Station at 500 West Madison Street, at the intersection of Madison and Canal Streets.

There are two commuter lines that run to Lake Forest so be sure to board the Metra Union Pacific North Line. The train runs to and from Chicago 30 times a day. Call the Regional Transportation Hotline at 312-836-7000 for schedule information or visit METRA online at www.metrarail.com. A one-way ticket from Chicago to Lake Forest costs approximately $4.

Arriving by Bus
From the Greyhound Bus Depot in Chicago, take a taxi to the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Follow the above directions.
