Chicago Transit Authority

imageThe most convenient way of moving around the city of Chicago is by the CTA system.  In Chicago, the elevated train system, which ironically runs underground in many locations, is called the "L."  Both buses and the "L" will get you almost anywhere.  The "L" is also a convenient way to get from O'Hare and Midway airports to downtown.  From there you can easily access the Metra system at the Ogilvie Transporation Center to get to Lake Forest.  Consult our Metra page for details.

A ride on a CTA bus is $1.75 and a ride on the "L" is $2 (when paying with a transit card), with your first transfer an additional $.25.  Every additional transfer for the following two hours is free. Below are links to the CTA Web site and system map.
